Since Christmas,

he has had the horrible flu thing.

He got thrush all over his willie and testicles.

His body is covered in a nasty excema type rash.

He is now constipated and tried to do a poo which got stuck and I had to help it out yeugh

So have been bathing him in E45 bubble bath then slathering on aqueous cream, and have just started giving him lactulose for the poo prob.

What do you think oh wise mumsnetters is there anything else I can do to help the poor wee man.

My youngest got Pneumonia in Oct and it took 6 - 8 weeks before the follow-on ill health probs stopped coming. It seems to put them generally under the weather and suceptible to anything and everything. Keep pestering your GP for help with all the bits and pieces, esp to make sure the rash isn't something else. Good Luck!

Allergy? sorry not much moew help.

Sorry Jam, it's utterly miserable when they are off colour. In my opinion at this age they get all sorts, between now and when they turn 3 it is a constant one thing after another. For instance J last week had some nasty virus, couldn't put my finger on it, up at night, followed by a rash. This week he is Mr Conjunctivitis plus a streaming nose. When their immune systems are compromised with one thing, lots of other small things attack them too and makes them more susceptible to every little thing going.

Is it warm enough in the house for him to go clothes-less for a while? It might ease his skin irritations.

Is he drinking enough water? I found it difficult to get mine to drink water during the winter in the UK.

I might be wrong, but I would say less bathing to prevent his skin from drying out.....

Poor fella.

High fibre foods like dried apricots will help with the poo problem. Get Junior Oilatum cream and baby bath for the dry skin. It's a bit more intensive. You can get it on prescription if you can be bothered going to doctor, but can be got over the counter as well.

Live yoghurt for the thrush. Doctor if no improvement or it's bothering him a lot.

Just have to ride it out I'm afraid. A tonic containing iron such as Minadex, can be helpful after children have been sick, I think. I know some people don't really believe in them, but I'm sure my children perk up after about a week on them.

Its really bloody annoying he has a fairly high fibre diet am pretty good at making sure he has a balanced diet bar the odd forbidden food.

Have already been to the docs he has canesten for the thrush and the DOC went oh yes a bit of excema not really a bit it looks like welts on his skin.

Poor thing. If he's on high fibre already, then watch out for foods that can bung kids up, like bananas for instance. Also large amounts of white carbs. Does he drink lots of water/ juice?

Don't let him get too hot, most excemas are irritated further, mine is. Tepid bath water, less often definately best, oilatum is fab, if you can cope with the smell, I don't like it. Aqueous morning and night.

Can't help with the other bits, sorry, not my bag.

Hope he gets better soon though. xxx
