Which IMO seems to be more frequent. He says it is his heart, and that it
A)Lasts only a few seconds
B) makes him get very distressed
C) he has no cough of breathing issues when it's happeneing (or at least not that he's aware of)
D) For a while now I have thought he looks very pale and "heavy eyed", but not sure if this is connected

He doesn't even get it every day, and it's not just after exercise, sometimes he is just sitting watching TV.
He haas mentioned it 3 times today already!

Well, I'd take him to a gp.
How old is he? Is he old enough to describe it accurately? My ds is 4 and complained of being breathless a lot, for no apparent reason, which I just put down to his fledgeling hypochondria, but after a few weeks I got the doc to check him out and she found nothing. In fact he stopped doing it soon after...
It may well be some kind of chest infection, or nothing, but if it's causing him distress take him to the dr.

He's 9. I ahve had him at the GP before and they said it was "a cold". That was about 7/8 months ago.
He says he doesn't feel breathless, but is getting very distressed about the pain, and is crying with it. I'll be honest I haven't made too much of a fuss, because Ds2 can be a bit of a dramtist, but becasue I've not made a fuss, I'm pretty sure this is as bad as he says it is.IYSWIM

My son had this and it was not anything to do with the heart, it is to do with the muscle wall and nerves etc being trapped in between the ribs, which is why they get it when they are slouching watching the tv
Our gp said also if they know some one who has died of a heart attack they get more worried about it and it can affect them more, my dad had died recently of a heart attack when ds had it.
It is called something like Costchondria (google heart pain in children)

Both my children had this rib pain, chostocharditis (??). I had it too on and off for a few days/a week. That was good because at least I knew what it felt like. My older son had it on and off for several weeks and my younger one has had it on and off for over a year.

We use a hot water bottle on the chest and distraction and validation of the symptom. I found it was constant when I had it. I have no idea what triggers it.
