Thread title says it all, really. I know it's called the 'kissing disease' as it's very commonly passed among teens by kissing but what about younger children? Could it be passed on just by being in the room and playing together? There's a case at school and I wondered if the DSs were at risk.

I caught it when I was 14 thought a snog I think it has to be some sort of fluid passing between the two to catch it.

I think you have to have your tongues down each others throats to catch it, other than that you're OK

I doubt there was much kissing going on in a Year 1 classroom so we should be okay then.

lol MDI
DD (y4 and y6) hate the thoguht of kissing - they complained that in james Bond there was kissing 'all the time' - there were 2 kisses....

It depends on how much close contact they have, will they inadvertantly share cups? coughing and sneezing can pass it too as it's passed in air borne droplets. I'd keep an eye on them to be honest, I had it at 16 and it was horrendous, I missed 4 months of school and was hospitalised. I still have problems 20 years later
