DS is very happy and healthy, only ishoos are very slight eczema now and then and a rather sore red bottom when he eats too much citrus fruit. He has a fantastic appetite and a varied diet, sleeps well etc.

However, he almost never has a solid poo -- it is always extremely pasty, thick and gungy. We are used to this and it has never been mentioned as a problem by any one at nursery, but I think it is perhaps quite unusual ... should I try to do something about it (eg dietary stuff/visit to doctor)or just not worry?

My DS is 17 months and his are similar. He's not a good eater though and drinks probably far more milk than he should at this age.
I suspect a milk allergy (fam history) so am trialing him on a diary free diet for a while. No particular change to poos though.
Will be interested to know if anyone has any thoughts on this. I want to start potty training ASAP.

Hmm, I did wonder about dairy, but I'm not really happy about cutting it out without actual evidence that it is the problem. He does drink milk, but not in vast quantities.

I'm planning to wait on potty training until he's at least two, but reading up on it ahead of time has made me realize that solid poos would probably make both our lives easier when the time comes!

Hoping for more input ... anyone?
