Have put this in Special needs too

Just got back from St Thomas' with Ds1, who had investigations into his bowel problems (he is 11 and never been 'clean') and they said he has a paralytic bowel, due to his cerebral palsy. We have to go back and see the consultant soon, but wondering if anyone has any experience of this condition.

DS1 was born with duodenal atresia. It was 'corrected' after he was born, but as he is growing (now 6.5) he has some problems with the passage of waste through the bowel. There isnt a term to describe his problems now, but my understanding of paralytic bowel is that his symptoms are similar - erratic bowel movements, pain. We try to 'control' it with diet - low fibre etc. He has adhesions from the surgery which dont help.

DS1 doenst have CP btw, but hope you dont mind me sharing
