DD had a temp of over 39 last night. Woke up yesterday morning with a very snotty nose, plus has her first top front tooth trying to come through. Won't go down for her nap at mums after lunch yesterday, finally fell asleep on her at about 5pm. When got home noticed she was warm and it was over 39. Gave her some medised and put her to bed. She slept ok but did wake up quite a few times, didn't have to go i as she settled herself (juts like night before). She woke up at 6am crying a lot and she felt very warm, have given some more medised and taken her sleeping bag off so she's just in her vest and shes quite and trying to go back to sleep......so at what point should I be worried?

Need to give mum instructions for today as she has her whilst I am at work, and she's defo from the put more layer on if she's hot camp of thought!

Keep her cool should be your first point for you mum!Second one is keep her drinking! I tend to worry when temp goes over 40. The main thing is if you can't get the temp down with calpol then an hour later neurofen, that signals a problem. (not sure how old your baby is so she may not be able to have neurofen, check that!)
I have taken mine to A & E a couple of time as dd tends to get very high temps (40+). The only time they have kept either of them in is when we couldn't get ds's temps down with medicine and he was already on antibiotics - turned out he had pneumonia (was fine after IV overnight of strong antibiotics).

Hope she feels better soon

Have you got some Nurofen for kids? It's really good for teething and temps in general, comes with its own syringe thingy.

I wouldn't be panicking just yet, does her temp come down after medicine or does it stay up?

Definitely keep her lightly covered and tell your mum not to sponge her with cool water - hottish/warm water is better if she does that. (cool water can make her body try and compensate and warm itself up, which you don't want!)
