DS2 is 5 and has recntly been prescribed glasses for his long sightedness.
He has to wear them all the time and hopefully his eyes will correct themseldves.
The first day or so he was fine and everyone was making a fuss of him.
He has been crying tonight, breaking his heart that he hates his glasses, looks ugly and doesn't need them or want to wear them anymore.
I am so upset for him, nad have given him lots of cuddles and explained how his glasses are helping his eyes.
Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciaated. Thansk

Not quite the same problem - but we have the Magic Glasses Fairy in our house (hence the name!). DD (age 5) didn't want to wear her changed prescription glasses so we put the old ones under the pillow and the fairy left a present. Could you use soemthing similar - a little present under the pillow each day he wears them.
Boy role models wearing glasses? Harry Potter etc - can't think of others offhand but there are them.
The teacher in DD's class had a Glasses Club which I thought was a bit odd at first but DD loved being in it - could you ask the teacher?
Do you wear glasses yourself? I made sure I wore my glasses rather than contacts when DD first got hers.
Some random thoughts - wll post again if I have any more.

I would get some stickers he likes and give one each day plus a reward at the end of the week if he wears them all the time.
Some books from the library?

Ask him if anyone has teased him at school and give him some examples of others who wear spectacles Dr Who and of course Harry Potter.

Try and set some fun 'tests' which he does with and without his glases. My DD has an astigmatism so we started reading house numbers with and without her glasses on. She soon realised her vision was much better with them.

There is a Charlie & Lola episode about wearing glasses which is good. And a Peppa Pig one where she wants glasses.

Tell him he looks very clever/fun/adventurous/whatever will motivate him when he is wearing them.

But really you just have to incorporate them into every day. Put them on his pile of clothes in the morning to put on. Tell him that when he is older if he still doesnt like them he can have contacts, but it is important that he wears them until that point as you dont want his eyes to get worse.

We made cardboard glasses outof cereal boxes for dd's soft toys and dolls when she got hers at 3 years.

Anne is right- it's like teeth brushing- not worth a fuss after a while cos it's part of everyday life.

No harm in a bit of short term bribing with chocolate for a day completed in them.

Go to the library and find books with characters in glasses.
