He pointed them out to me before putting on his Pjs, there were about 10.then when I got him to take of his top to try on a t-shirt there were about 6-8 more.
Some are flat, and look like bites, some are raised with a white or yellow centre. He now has them on his back, front, arms and legs.
Any ideas?
No itching, no temp, no pain

Just checked myself, and it is possible especially if it was a mild case before

DesperateHousewifeToo · 14/01/2009 20:49

A child in ds' class had it 3 times apparently.

If the they blister, like a cold sore, they are likely to be chicken pox spots.

SaltireOShanter · 15/01/2009 07:47

Well no more spots have appeared overnight, and the ones he has are like tiny blisters, some yellow, some white, all raised. he has no other symptoms!

It does sound like cpox, doesn't it?

Have they crusted over?

My ds didn't really have any other symptoms when he had cpox.

geegees · 15/01/2009 16:09

My neice has had chickenpox three or 4 times. The first time she has a lot of spots classic chickenpox but since then just gets about 10 spots and is a bit under the weather for a week or two then they go again. Doctor says it is chickenpox and its ok to get it several times and nothing to worry about.

SaltireOShanter · 15/01/2009 16:22

Well the spots are still there, no more appeared. He is a bit grumpy but otherwise fine. Should he be at school though?

Is there a pitted area around any of them? If so it could be eczema herpeticum which can be serious. Ds1's was misdiagnosed as chickenpox originally - he was also well in himself, but if it is it a child can get suddenly very ill.

If you go to a doc ask 'could this be eczema herpeticum' most doctors are not familiar with it. DS1 had very mild eczema before the e herpeticum.

Sounds like molluscum to me.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Molluscum_contagiosum shows a picture, they can have white / yellow centres too. They spread quite easily so more appearing would be common.

What do you think Salt, are these similar?

Lilyloo · 15/01/2009 16:28

molloscum ds got them last summer.
He started with one took him to docs as they were spreading.
They are contagious but docs won't give anything.
They go on their own but can take up to two years.
DS has spread down one arm and some on his groin. Through scratching i guess.

We are currently using elizabeth arden 8 hour cream reccomended on here and showing signs of improevement 3 weeks in.

OneLieIn · 15/01/2009 16:29

Lilyloo, we had them and got rid of them very very quickly (within a few days) using the oil inside Vit E capsules, they worked a treat.

Lilyloo · 15/01/2009 16:30

Some of them do show as blister like others are flat white pimples.

DS took the head of one very large one on his nipple which was the first one we noticed it had a hard grissly centre..

jute · 15/01/2009 16:31

oh yes some of ds3's molluscum started like that althought they tended to be red or skin coloured.
