DS3 has just (well 15 minutes ago) crawled full speed into the side of the door. grabbed some bacon from the freezer (first thing I found) and wrapped a t-towel round it to put on his head to try to reduce the swelling.

He's still got a whopping great lump on his forehead at one side, slight graze, but thankfully didn't draw blood.

He had a huge scream at the time, but now appears to be ok. Although a bit more tearful (inbetween playing) than usual.

I've just searched NHS direct website and can't find any advice for head bumps, what else to do, what to watch for.....

Which I should know, not only have a I done 2 first aid courses in the not too distant past between them DS1 and 2 bring home enough "your child had a bump on the head" letters from school.

If he's acting fine I wouldn't worry. When he goes to bed make sure you can rouse him after an hour.

Big lumps are always a good sign!

thanks - thought it was something like that but mind went blank. Edges of doors and toddler heads don't mix - have a photo on my profile (you'll have to twist your head round as I couldn't get it to rotate and upload straight from my camera for some reason today)

thankfully no blood (I've only just recently hired a rug doctor to clean the carpets ). Seems ok now, but will try and rouse him (oh poo - not looking forward to that think it's going to be a long night) when he goes to bed later.
