You can't catch it like that! It's direct contact with the scabs, not airborne.

It is airborne. I guess it would depend how long the child had been out of the room.

Sorry definitely airborne. A friend's ds caught it from my ds and they weren't even in the same room.

My children have just had it - my doctor told me that it would need actual contact, the example he gave was approx 10mins face-to-face conversation. I guess the equivalent for a toddler is playing in fairly close poximity for a fair amount of time. So I would say no, they can't get it from a room where it was.

I swear that 'poximity' wasn't on purpose!
