DD woke up and was very sick this am, after a few days of being not quite right, clingy and tired. This evening she has been sick again and feels hot to me although underarm temp reading was 36.3, not sure I trust it. She also had an exploding poo. She won't take any calpol and is generally feeling sorry for herself. We bf and although I was at work today she has been breast feeding this evening, also offering her water. She ate a little during the day and has been getting lots of cuddles. What else can i do to make her feel better?
Also how long after D&V do I have to keep her off nursery?

more breastfeeding and cuddling. If she feels very hot, strip off and give her a bath? If she wants ti eat, comfort foods like baked beans?

I think most nurserys/schools etc say for them to stay away until 48 hrs after symptoms stop. I don't think docs recommend cool baths for fever anymore, maybe someone else can confirm that? Can you use a syringe to get some calpol into her. Hope she's better soon.

Key is getting fluids into her. I ended up having to take dd to A&E because she wouldn't drink. But if she's breast feeding should be OK. I think stripping off is better than cold baths. Don't know how old she is, but medised may help sleeping if you can syringe it in?

Good luck....

Thanks guys, it was a long night on Thurs and on Friday and by Friday she had given it to me and dh (sharing is caring right?) While I was able to soldier on dh was convinced he was dying (wonder: I need to change the bed she's been sick everywhere. Mrwonder:I can't move, I really can't get up) So I was nurse to all, the joys! Thankfully we are all better now, well dh and I are shattered and baby wonder is full of beans!
