Cranial Osteopathy nightmare or coincidence?

DS, 9 months, has sleep issues. Took him to CO on Friday who came highly recommended-even travelled an hour to get to her. She spent an hour on him and said he had major drainage issues. Said his ears were going seperate directions and his head was quite a mess. Have never been one to believe in such things, but was desperate and willing to try anything.
Anyway...literally since the moment we left he has changed from being a sunny smily little boy to being a clingy, whingy, unsettled nightmare. He used to go to bed at 7 and sleep til 1-2 before kicking off. Last night, for example, he woke 8 times before 1. He wouldn't let go of me, ended up having to sleep with him propping his head up on me and holding on to me for dear life. I was at the end of my tether before this...am now in bits. They said he may be get a bit worse before he gets better but it shouldn't be more than a day or two.
Am in two minds as to whether or not to go back for 2nd lot. She said two weeks. He is pouring snot but doesn't seem to have a cold(to be fair, he has never been able to stream before it always blocks his nose). Am rambling, sorry. Been up since 5 and not slept much before that.

My initial thoughts were that it has obv started something off - esp if his nose is now streaming. I would think that you just need to persevere for a few more days and see if it improves.

It sounds dreadful - lack of sleep is knackering but hopefully will be worth it in the long term.

I think it's a really good sign. You probably need a few more sessions. Persevere - a cranial osteopath worked wonders on my son.

FWIW I don't actually have much faith in cranial osteopaths (improvements being due to parental placebo effect/reducing parental anxiety/feeling as though something is being "done" etc etc) BUT I don't think that the behaviour you describe can be a bad side effect of osteopathy.

Go back for the next session - by which time he'll be over the cold he picked up on his way there and the parental placebo effect is a wonderful thing and can work miracles with sleep!

Do go back.
When osteo drained my ear, there was a lot of discomfort & pain and I had 6 sessions, after each of them I felt draining in various places - but my ear is now OK (after yeard of being blocked!) and it is now OK.
The orthodox treatment was MRI which showed "no significant abnormality" (I guess no tumour).
