Can anyone explain what causes it. She seems to be worse if she hasnt slept the usual 12 hours.

Im thinking its a lack of vitamin or similar, she is generally a good eater small portions and takes forver to finish. Working on the 5 day more like 3ish tho. She is 7.

Does she drink enough water? Dehydration can cause dark circles. How about sinus problems? I have been given advice about this myself from some great MNers, maybe they will come on and talk to you, but congestion can also cause dark circles. How has she been in herself recently?

MrsSanta · 04/01/2009 11:54

Thanks pavlov, She drinks loads really milk & water, innoceent in lunch box. I have never given her juice and she doesnt like it much.
She has asthma (night time cough) so uses inhalers and she also has bad ear wax (not sure if that is releveant but all ent) it causes poor hearing.
She is fine in herself but always looks pale and pasty.

It could well be related to ENT problems. I have this as an ongoing problem, alongside other ailments (I am a sick person in general these days), I have increased my water, and taken decongestion tablets/face steam to help deal with my congestion, it has helped, but now jetlag has made me look like I have been in a fight again.

I hope some-one comes along with some good suggestions about how to help your DD. Could she be anemic? (pale and pasty)

MrsSanta · 04/01/2009 12:03

Not really noticed the stuffy nose, altough her fingers are uo it most of the day!!

Before dd3 was diagnosed with coeliac disease (intolerance to gluten) she had huge black bags under her eyes, she rarely has now....also is there a chance your dd is anaemic?

sharkyandgeorge · 04/01/2009 20:40

My DD (2) suffers quite badly from constipation and our paed said black under eyes is a classic symtpo in children with this sort of digestive problem, probably other causes as well though.

MrsSanta · 05/01/2009 08:57

Thanks everyone, Ive checked her eyes and doesnt look anemic, I suffer with UC and hoping dd or ds dont get it.

She has inhamers for night time cough (doc said asthma).

Might make an apoointment.

Does she snore?

MrsSanta · 05/01/2009 11:02

not really, she used to. DS is 3 and snores for England but he has massive tonsils.
