Please tell me the magic cure for my 12 months constant night time cough! He has been coughing every 2 mins since 6pm and been sick with all the coughing twice.

Had this a few times before and doctor gave us 2.5ml Piriton.

Have given him the Piriton, rubbed Vicks on his feet, put the yellow pages under the cot, given him s dose of Tixylix infant cough liquid (the only one you can give a baby under 2) and water.

What else can I do!!! Please help this is driving me nuts ( and him of course! )

Can a 12 month old have Manuka honey? How do you give it?

"The Food Standards Agency says that honey should not be fed to children under the age of 1 due to the risk of the bacteria Clostridium botulinum."

How would you give it do you think?

I dont think allergy is the risk with honey its the risk of it having the bacteria or something in it, afaik.

I give DS a spoonfull a day or put it on his weetabix or dissolve in water.

I use one which is 15UMF, (they are different strengths)

Just think it gives his immune system a wee boost over the winter and helps with the coughs and colds etc.

U can also put it on cuts, spots etc.

I'll give anything a go.......except onions, that was taking things too far last night!

Thank-you x

I would love to boost DD's immune system. Sadly food is not her priority and she does not eat wheat too much so breakfast is out, I don't think I can mix a teaspoon full of honey in a petit felous! As she is not that interested in food I have to work really hard to get her to eat anything, let alone something new.

Would it affect the 'goodness' value if I used it in cooking? I am guessing it would, I was thinking flapjacks?
