Ideas for tempting a poorly (!!) toddler to eat?

Apologies firstly for those who hate the word poorly! My dn (3) has had a bad virus lately - prob norovirus - and although the illness itself seems to be abating (temp down, etc), she's very weak and lethargic and has very little appetite.

She's had a couple of spoonfuls of porridge today, is drinking milk, but refuses everything else, including smoothies and chocolate!

My sister isn't sure whether to worry or not, and would appreciate ideas for nutritious and tempting food, and any other advice you might have. Thanks - am also posting this in food.

What about pasta? plain or with butter or olive oil to give her a bit of energy. Soup might work too.

Thanks, all - sister says thanks too. dn appears to be on the mend, having passed it on to my poor mother!

when dd2 was recovering from her virus and was refusing to eat/drink lots of things, she would eat:

cabbage (not quite sure why, but she would!)
cornflakes

and she would drink coke. She is not normally allowed coke (or anything sugary or fizzy) but we let her as she'd been so ill, thinking that she needed some energy.

She was eating pretty much normally after about three days and never stopped from that moment on. Even now, months later, she would eat us out of house and home if we let her.

Good to see your niece is on the mend
