She has been ill hasn't she trace? SHe probably feels the cold more easily than others DD's circulation is always worse when she is ill.
It is utterly bitter here today, and you are north of me....

Maybe she has Raynaud's (a circulatory condition)

Pile on the layers- does she have a cosytoes/snuggle on the buggy? I always make DD keep her hands insode there, even with her gloves on.

WhatFreshHellIsThis · 03/12/2008 17:30

Raynaulds would make her hands go completely white, IIRC. My sister has it.

It is bitter out there. Brrrrrrrr, poor DD. Hope she's feeling better now.

I think cold hands just really hurt - DS was like this a couple of weeks ago. I had no idea what the problem was until we were back home and he'd thawed enough to tell me his hands were cold. He howled all the way home from the park though...

yes your right am just fed up with every thing! her arms used to go blue, but they never found out why

WhatFreshHellIsThis yes i thought they went white to

yes- they can turn white usually, but sometimes red or blue too tbh- DH has reynauds- was diagnosed when he had a cryogenic fit- ie turned completely blue all down arms.
How is she healthwise atm?
Also- perhaps look at thicker gloves/coat?
DD has woolen mittens, but they are lined with fleece- so double layer, her hat and scarf are the same. They were from H&M so not too expensive, but very toasty.
She also has down-filled coat- warmest I've found, from GAP (though procured on ebay . She feels the cold v easily, (as do I) but is snug atm thank goodness.

It helps to use the raincover too, if you're not already. It keeps the wind off and her body will heat the inside up a few degrees.

DD had this yesterday and sobbed and howled. Poor angels, it's too cold isn't it.

Dannat · 03/12/2008 18:20

DD used to turn blue from the waist down and they never discovered what that was either.

ChairmumMiaow · 03/12/2008 18:28

In this weather, DS lets me zip him right up in the babywearing coat and keeps his hands tucked up inside next to me, nice and warm

What I could do with is a nice coat that's just arms, a hood and a bit to connect them and keep his neck warm as he's always toasty in the middle - its just the extremities in the sling that need warming.

Poor kids generally in this weather though

dontbitemytoes · 03/12/2008 20:45

dd does this everyday when i walk the dog with her now that its cold. However she is 15mo and refuses to wear gloves there is no way i can make her as she pulls them off and screams "no" at me in fury. Same with a hat. Sadly she also kicks the cosytoes and won't let that touch her feet or legs. So cold she is

roll on summer.
