How old is he? Old enough to be bribed with chocolate buttons? Yes I know, but needs must and all that?

When we did it with DD when she was about 18 months we lay her on her side and dribbled them in from the side and promised her if she winked 10 times they would be gone.

do them when he is asleep - although you may need to set your alarm for 5am to get a dose in before he wakes (although compared to the sumo wrestling alternative it may seem worth it?)

OK thanks for that i will be trying both ways. I will try the chocolate buttons way but i reckon DS will not even laydown for me. thanks again ladies x

either asleep, or with bribery here too

if you have to restrain I found the best way was to have them sat, then you sit behind them, tip their head back so their forehead is against your chest, but I'd try the first two to start with.

I know they are meant to be kept refridgerated, but DD1 hated them cold so I warmed them up to room temp first.

Nope, they were a nightmare for me too. I went back and got the ointment - worked a treat.

Do you have limitless supplies of the solution? If so, would it be worth giving him a small wad of cotton wool soaked in the drops, and get him to dab them on his eyes himself, in the hopes some of it gets home?

When dd had conjunctivitus (your poor ds, it's so sore) we held the drops bottle to the side of her nose toward the inner corner of her eye, then told her to pull googly-eyed faces - it worked, but she's 8 1/2 so everythings easier at that age.
