Is there such a thing as a teething rash?

Just wondered because DS (3) has been a bit off colour this week, had a temp one day, a bit droopy generally...then I noticed quite a wide spread rash across his torso yesterday. My first thought was chicken pox since his high temp was 4 days ago which would fit for chicken pox incubation. But the rash is actually slightly better today so now Im wondering. Also, I noticed at breakfast he has a new molar coming through, first new tooth for well over a year, so perhaps this is the culprit...has anyone elses DC ever had a torso rash with teething...? Im praying it isn't the pox since we are meant to be going on holiday to centre parcs soon and it would be a real pain if we have to be in quarantine! TIA for any comments.

My ds used to get a rash when he was teething, and also if he ran a temperature. It finally dawned on me (when he was about 5) that what he actually had was a Calpol rash. We found another brand of paracetamol and haven't had a rash since!

My ds gets a little prickly rash on his chest sometimes with teething, but I put that down to the dribble on his clothes seeping through.
Interesting about the calpol rash, not heard that before.
What about using ibuprofen? I found it works quicker

Bumpity...he still has slight rash, am getting paranoid it is the pox after all! I dont think it is a calpol thing in this case...nor dribble, hes 3 years old plus it is too extensive a rash but thanks for the suggestions.

Yes, definitely an FLR at the mo! Sounds like I'll know soon if it is chicken pox then since ATM its nothing like you describe Ww.
