underarm temp 38.9 is that ok?

ds2 has been ill for 3/4 days.cold/cough,asthma,runny bum,sick,nosebleeds(all set of by cough and cough mixture i think).hes now got temp of 38.9 underarm.ive not got any calpol(dumbarse forgot to buy more before bottle was near end).what to do?

hope he is better soon and that you get at least an hour's sleep tonight!

I slept on the floor of Ds 2.5yrs last week as he had bad vomit bug.Thank god for washing machines and calpol !

Keep an eye on it. It'll be OK. Kids get ill, it's a PITA but important to boost their immune system.

You do need to take him to the GP tomorrow though if he's still coughing. Call NHS direct if he worsens over night.

only an 45 minutes ish till i knock off shift!-if temp stays ok between now and then.then i wont sleep anyway as am a warrier.

hi.just a quick message to say-took him to gp and got sent straight to hospital!turned out it was gastroentritis(sp?)but he was badly dehydrated and very low blood sugar levels so spent the night on drips.and his oxygen levels were low so they upped his inhalers poor man.he had a wet nappy this morning and drank a little so they said he could come home but we have to keep eye on him drinking and his breathing/how alert he is.im shattered!
