Not really

I wouldn't.

Temperature can go up very quickly with earache, both DS and DGD had febrile fits with high temps, and Earache, so I wouldn't.

Pennies · 17/11/2008 07:35

Ah - temp is below normal. Is that still a no then?

Can you get a early Dr Appointment, have it seen to then if Ok send into school?

You have to weigh everything up. Can your child easily stay off for the day (ie do you go out to work)? If you do send him to school, can you get him if he is unwell at school?

How does your child seem in himself - is the earache affecting his overall demeanor? If he is sick, don't force him to go to school.

Does it respond to paracetamol?

no, I wouldn't. Earache is one of the worst pains. I wouldn't expect them to be able to cope, if it's bad. Plus if it's an ear infection, they can be quite poorly.

I'd keep them off, see how they are, maybe get them to gp for them to have a look.

Of course, it's also fakeable, so I'd be clear that day off school meant day laid on sofa with tv and all games off!!
