she is crying inconsolably and has been for 2 days now. I didnt take her into the doctor because she didnt really have any symptoms other than what I thought was teething: temperature on and off yesterday (controlled), and drooling so much its unreal - changing her bibs and clothes every couple of hours.

she has two bottom teeth already. Have felt around gums but cant feel any hard gums or sharp points for top teeth or incisors. No 'red' cheeks either.

she is putting things in her mouth. Wont eat a thing and wont drink much milk either.
We have the worst gp in the world. Guaranteed to wait over an hour for baby appointments. Have toddler at home too so was wary about going in just for crying and drooling but now wondering if it could be something else?
thankyou

Call your out of hours GP tonight.

Crying inconsolably for that length of time needs looking into. It may be teething, but it could be lots of other things.

Earache is a common one for making a baby scream. Go to out of hours doc and get them to look in ;her ears.

Ear infection I mean.

She's not just crying and drooling though, she has a temperature and won't eat or drink either. Personally I'd take her. Have you been giving her calpol etc to take her temp down. She might have a virus or an infection. Is she having wet nappies?

Do you have to sit and wait for an appointment? Can someone look after your toddler while you go with her? Sorry but I think you're going to have to take her.

Could there be something stuck in her throat? Not threatening her breathing, but causing discomfort? My dd at 8m ate a small foil star, which lodged and caused lots of drool.
