34 weeks pregnant, one DD broke out with chicken pox spots yesterday, how long for sister to get it?

Am praying that other DD gets it soon - any rule of thumb guidance as to how long before she might catch it? Am playing with time as I've read it that it can be up to 3 weeks incubation period? Which takes me up to 37 weeks pregnant..worried about new baby getting it too..

First DD has been under the weather for a week or so and broke out in spots Friday night. Am trying to hope that other DD will catch it soon, before I get nearer end of pregnancy.

I imagine I need to keep them both off nursery and pre-school. What is incubation period for DD2? They are twins so are always together so I imagine its unlikely just one would get it? If DD2 is fine now, does she need to go through a grizzly phase like DD1 before the spots even show?

Any help gratefully recieved.

If dd2 likely ot have bene expsoed at same time then imminently , if not then 10 days-3 weeks form Thursday/Friday. You don't need to keep her off if no symptoms. Baby may be ok if you've had it before and got immunity or may only get it mildly.

Cheers so much all, am hoping as LIZS says that they must have been exposed to the same child so that DD2 gets it soon as well.

I guess there might be another flock of spots appearing even if first lot on face are crusting? She also had a crop on her back last week..

Why now!! They've been exposed to so many kids with the pox in the last year and not got it!
