I don't know but my dd had something similar at about 12 months and she became dehydrated. We took her to the hospital and we has to use a syringe to feed her 5 mls every 5 minutes of diarolite or whatever it is called. We couldn't giver her her milk as her stomach was too upset to deal with it and this was making her more sick.

Good Luck.

When you say she's projectile vomiting, do you mean straight after a feed like the exorsist or a while later with alot of vomit?

Any fever etc?

20 mins 20 mins to half hour after - exorcist style. NHS direct say feed little and often as he has a stomach upset. Prob the bug that is going round.

Poor mite.

Try feeding little bits and often, if he's showing signs of dehydration (drowsy, sunken fontinelle, sunken eyes, not passing urine) then take him to A&E. They are normally able to keep some of it down unless they vomit straight away so try not to worry. Just keep an eye on him. If he gets any worse or you are concerned then phone them back.

Feed as often as he wants. It will be very comforting for him and it is rapidly absorbed. Even if he was to chuck up his entire stomach contents as soon as he finished feeding, he would already have absorbed some.

Don't let out of hours or NHS24 tell you to stop breastfeeding. I got seen once by a nurse practitioner who told me to stop feeding ds for 24 hours and give "something like ribena" instead. ]

I complained.

Breastmilk is classed as a clear fluid and is NOT dairy!!

Hope he is better soon.

YES, BF little and often, on demand, at every opportunity.

My DD had this when she was not much older than your DC. I took her to A&E and they say I could either give diarolyte in syringe or breastfeed. Other than that, they did nothing apart from monitor the fact that she kept something down and didn't become dehydrated.
