Our 7 mth old baby has his first cold :-( Sneezing, runny nose, etc. Eating OK but generally off colour. He also had a strange wandering rash - red skin with raised white bumps - naturally we were terrified and took him to the doctor, who prescribed anti histamine. The rash disappeared though so we didn't give him the anti histamine. However, for the last 2 days he has been pooing like a demon - sorry TMI - literally filled his nappy to the edges (and over a couple of times) five or six times a day. he's usually a twice a day baby. Poo is not too runny or diarrhoea seeming but why the heck is there so much of it???? Plus, his cheeks are very red and sore. Maybe he is teething as well? He has the 2 bottom teeth already, perhaps he's growing even more and that's something to do with it?? Any advice gratefully received!

If your baby has swallowed some, er, nasal mucus, it will trickle into his stomach and be expelled in the natural way. However, this does seem excessive, so I would be inclined to get him checked out. Make sure you keep his fluids up.
