Mums of late teethers - tell me your experiences please

My just turned 1 year old still has no teeth. It feels like he's been 'teething' since he was 4 months old - dribbling, hot flushed cheeks, periods of diarrhea / nappy rash and unsettled sleep.
His gums don't feel like any are imminent. I just wondered what other mums have experienced. I am hoping when one does come, they will all follow quickly. Does this happen?
I am willing the teeth to show!

Ds1 and Ds2 were both late teethers - nothing till they were both well over a year, ds2 is 4 and has just got his last teeth. IME they didn't all come at once I'm afraid. No sign of any permanent teeth in ds1 (nearly 6). Expecting the same to happen with ds3!

On the bright side they both have lovely teeth for their age as their teeth are still quite new!

oh no, so this could go on for ages yet (i am not the most patient!).
oh well, i guess it gives us plenty of time to practice teeth brushing before it actually matters (i am sure he looks at me as if to say, i don't have any teeth yet mummy, why are you putting this brush in my mouth?)
thanks for posting.

My DS has been a fairly late and slow teether

we are still waiting for 3 more back molars and he is 2.5

I found he would get 2 or 3 teeth at once and he teethed without any real problems (except for toxic nappies)

thanks ruby, we've had the toxic nappies, they come and go. it feels a bit like contractions without dilating, iyswim!

Likessleep your post has reassured me - I thought DS was the only 1 year old around with no teeth. He too has been teething for what seems like forever. My mother tells me the later the teeth come in the healthier the teeth.

Apparently they are likely to come into much less contact with 'sugary' milk as by this stage most are having much more solids than milk...Probably an old wives tale but it would be nice wouldn't it!

absolutely ephrinedaily, that would be nice. i am also grateful i did breastfeeding without teeth too, the thought makes me wince.
