My dd is nearly 3 and she has always drunk alot of juice, She has atleast 30 cups a day.

I never thought of this as a problem but someone recently commented and said it's a sign of diabetes.Does anyone know if this is true?

If we're having a busy day or we are out she only has a couple but if we are at home she is constantly asking for juice.

Increased thirst is one sign of diabetes, as I understand it. In your shoes, I would definitely go to the doctors and have a chat.

On a side note, my initial reaction to your post was to worry about your DD's teeth. This is from the British Dental Health Foundation website:

"The main cause of tooth decay is not the amount of sugar or acid in the diet, but how often it is eaten or drunk. The more often your child has sugary or acidic foods or drinks, the more likely they are to have decay. It is therefore important to keep sugary and acidic foods to mealtimes only."

Sorry, I know that is off topic and I am sure that you are much more worried about the diabetes. I hope that you don't mind me mentioning it.

I know but to be honest it's so watered down that a small bottle of robinsons lasts 2 weeks.

i'm going to see the nurse on monday so i'll ask her about the diabetes.

I hope that she puts your mind at rest. It's difficult to know what is within normal limits when the powers that be are always trying to get us to drink more water!
