I am struggling to fill this child. Tonight he has just eaten a 150 gram (yeah, I weighed it) jacket potato, broccoli, plenty of butter and 5 ping pong ball sized meatballs. he is, as I speak, tucking into a fried egg sandwich because he demolished his meal and begged for more.

It seems so much. he's not a skinny child, isn't remotely fat either (average height and 3 stone 3lb. he's quite active but my lord, he eats more than me!

is this normal?

Shall I dose him with Vermox and see if he shits a snake?

My nearly 4 yr old twins are the same - they have a meal sized snack 2hrs after lunch.
Ds2 was at a family do last sunday and after main course and 3 different puddings I decided to say no he couldn't have a bread roll - he howled so I gave in.
I made a banana cake yesterday and they ate the whole lot(dh helped) after tea.
They aren't fat and they eat tons of veg so I'm not worried- I put it down to hollow legs.

Do they eat more in the morning or at night? Ds1 seems to be a bottomless pit after dinner.

Well ds2 has just had bread, fruit and chunk of cheese - that would be 45 minutes after his tea.
I am taking note of all the value shopping threads as a result.
I do think dd asks for food when what she actually needs is to go to bed, but that could be me getting irritable about trailing to the kitchen again.
I think I spend as much on crackers/ endless bananas and other stuff for snacks as I do for main meals.
My mum says it's worse when they're teennagers and they're in the fridge at all hours of the night- I still have that habit now and it shows!

DS1 (he's 6) is the same. I'm sick of hearing the words 'mummy, I want something to eat'. Anyone would think we don't feed him at all. He's always hungry.

Wait until they are 13 They become even more of a bottomless pit

My ds is 15. 6ft 2, 10st , and never stops eating...ever. I don't know where it goes

he polished off a bowl of cereal before bed too.

I am terrified of how much he is going to eat when he is a teenager. His dad is 10 stoone and a bottomless pit, and his little brother can give him a run for his money too!
