Maybe. If you want to be sure then have a look at her bum tonight when you go to bed as this is when they come out and party! If it's worms you should see them wriggling around. No need to see GP if it is, you can get stuff over the counter.

some selotape across her anus when she sleep, and you 'll see the little feckers.

Or use a torch and have a look at night time.

They tend to itch more than cause soreness tho.

eggs are microscopic. Worms are 1-2 cm long and thin, about 1 mm across. White. Wiggly. the turd that waves back

lol at "little feckers", MB

just had another look and think the white dot I saw must have been loo roll or something as it's not there now

she says it feels like she has a little stone up her bum

dinny · 19/10/2008 18:39

oh bleurgh

am going to have to make dh do the looking tonight, am far too squeamish

when my ds had them he said that it felt like his bum was burning. I had a look at bedtime and sure enough a couple came out to say hello.

Blandmum · 19/10/2008 18:40

Dunno. a mate's child pushed a marble up his arse once. andy chance she might had done something similar? Is she constipated?

mimiasovitch · 19/10/2008 18:41

When my dd had them she complained (loudly) of really bad itching inside, mainly at night. Could she have a pile?

dinny · 19/10/2008 18:43

she says her bottom doesn't itch

she isn't constipated and is regular poo-wise, east VERY healthy diet, loves fruit, veg, drinks lots water etc etc

she did have a tummy bug (mild) and loose-ish poos last week, which until now I presumed had maybe made inside her bott sore

oh, and she wouldn't put anything up her bum, she's pretty sensible generally (just asked her and she said she hadn't)

she might have an anal fissure. My nephew had one, and it was very sore - also after a tummy bug.

when dd had worms, she didn't complain of anything at all....

I've had both piles and fissures in my time and they both hurt, and can imagine a child describing both as like having a small stone up their bum.

dinny · 20/10/2008 13:19

hmmmm, should I take her to doctor? it's not stopping her pooing her usual amount and she's not in a LOT of pain, just immediately after she poos she says it hurts and then it's OK. presumably they can't really do anyting about fissures except let them heal....?
