He is 3 and we are going as he walks a lot on his tip toes and it was suggested it might be an idea to have him looked at. He is also knock kneed and complains a far bit his legs hurt. We are going to the Foot Clinic.

what sort of advice you looking for?
Practical - take snacks and toys
medical - ask whether its puerly a physical problem or if he may have something like mild cerebral palsy. Ask whether physio would help, what the wait time is and exercises you can do at home.
That sort of thing.

being a bit daft here, but is there a health issue for children who walk on their tip toes, my DD does it a lot but I wasn't sure if it was an issue or not?

(Cant help on your OP though, only taken DD to the hospital when she was a few months old for immature hips)

I am going really!

Just wondering what they will do to check for problems.

He doesn't have CP and I don't know that it is even a problem I just know it is past a certain age and with his sister having history with feet probs I am being cautious.

My daughter walked on tip toes and they put her in plaster up to her knees with the feet set at 90 degree angles so the ligaments at the back of her legs could stretch. It worked and she walked normally after that. Its quite common they said.

Well, we are back. The lady we saw was lovely.

He is not knock kneed.

His problem is he sits with his legs in a W shape (feet under bottom and spread out) and it is putting a strain on his hips. When he walks on his tip toes he is trying to support himself.

The shoes he has are perfect and he doesn't currently need any physio, we just have to encourage him to sit with his legs forward so he is sitting straight rather than slouched.
