Is ds urinating too much?

ds is 4.7, despite a few attempts he's still in nappies at night, but now he gets through two a night. It's absolutely full at 11pm and then he usually ends up leaking on a morning around 5:30.

His last drink is around 6:30, a normal child sized cup and he goes to the loo before he sleeps at 8pm.

I don't think he drinks excessively during the day. He does eat tons though and is always saying he's hungry but little boys do don't they? He did have lots of meals yesterday, including four large slices of bread and peanut butter for his lunch... which does seem a little excessive.

It wouldn't be overreacting to take him to the drop in hour for children at the doctors would it?

I don't think it would be over reacting at all. there are many reasons why a child his age may still be wetting at night and it is best to see if it can be looked into now. my neice is 10 and she still does this too but she has a specific medical problem that we are working on. she was supposed to be going on an overnight stay with the school this month but has had to pull out because of this.

I don't think it would be over-reacting either?

What is his urine output duting the day like?

Frequent urination can be a symptom of diabetes, as is increased hunger.

I would take him to be checked and if nothing else rule it out as a potential cause.

Doc gave us a urine sample bottle for one two hours after a meal.

Felt he was a little dismissive, but that just might be me being sensitive to having to admit ds was still wearing a nappy at night.

During the day he seems to wee normally, not too little or too much.

At his age don't mind the wetting at night as much as the quantity which has significantly increased.

I think you are right there. It is not the fact that he is wetting at night which concerned me from your post. It is the apparent volume.
