Has anyone had the single vaccines?

My father is strongly against MMR and has offered to pay for single vaccines for dd, bless him. Health professionals have been doing their best to discredit single vaccine clinics in any discussion I have had with them, but I guess they are just programmed to promote MMR. Would be really interested to hear of any experiences real people have had of the single vaccine clinics. Many thanks look foward to hearing from you.

I've use direct health 2000 for the measles vaccine for all 3 of my children. I think it was around £70 each. They travel all over the UK, so you may be able to book something with them, though be prepared for the queue on the day bring lots of food and toys!

I think you can still get the mumps vaccine through your gp.

We have done singles for both boys. It was always a fight with the pediatricians, though kudos to your dad for being open-minded enough to go against the tide!

Another vote for DH2000 here. Both my DS have had single vacs with them. Have always found them very professional and helpful.

They do run lots of outreach clinics now so should be one fairly near to you hopefully.

We went to Dr Halvorsen at the Holborn clinic because he would do just the measles jab, which is what we wanted. Some of the clinics insist you have all 3. (we plan to take DD back for the rubella jab when she's 12)

We used Health Choice UK who were fine

I read an interesting article about MMR recently by JOhn Briffa who is a doctor/nutritionist, will try and find it and post a link.

We used Direct Health 2000 for both boys as local outreach clinic was close (rural area)

Pannacotta - that link doesn't seem to work. Could you check it please as this is an article I'm interested in reading. Thanks!

Hi Piaffe,
DS had singles this year. If you email link on jabs website they will email you a list of single vaccine providers throughout Britain.

DS had a reaction to measles vaccine but not to the others. He does have a tendency to react though, which was one of the reasons we decided to vaccinate singely.

NHS has a policy of promoting MMR as only option. HV told me that they are banned from giving parents any information about single options and that I would have to find providers myself.

Am glad that we went ahead with single vaccines. Think you have to do what sits most comfortably with you, whether that be MMR or singles.

My DS had singles, we had them done at www.breakspearmedical.co.uk/.

No problems, highly recommended.
