Trapped Wind in 18 m old dd?

My daughter seems to wake in the night with wind pain. Starting to think this may be linked to cow's milk bottle she has before bed. Have found good cures and techniques for clearing the wind but want to get to the cause. Has anyone else had this experience? Any advice?

I have found real success with gripe water which I have bought over the counter in chemist. Tummy rubbing is good and also had advice from the HV to put her back to a hot water bottle - obviously making sure that you cover the bottle in a towel or let it cool dramatically. It loosens the muscles and helps the wind to pass. Really feel it is the milk though. Do you notice any connection?

I hadn't thought of it before but she does have a bottle (the only one) before she goes to bed.

She really only started doing it this week,I hope it isn't the milk or I could be in big trouble

I didn't really think too much about it either but have read so many posts about kids who can't break it down too well and this causes wee digestive problems. My daughter has 2 bottles each day - morning and bedtime. No problems in the am - maybe becasue she is active as opposed to night time when she isn't.

Another one of those trial and error things i think!!

Hi,

My dd who is 13 months is also waking at night with bad wind pains. she always had cows milk with cereal am and breastfeed pm no problems. recently she has had cows milk with cereal am and cows milk in cup with lunch and sometimes breastmilk pm (but lately refusing). do you think 1cup of milk a day extra could cause such issues? thanks
