DD1 has been referred to cardiology for her heart murmer

I used to have my heart murmur checked regularly . I have a ventricular septal defect) They normally did an ultrasound scan (can be a bit uncomfortable when it feels like they are trying to go under your ribs) SOmetimes I had an X-ray and an ECG as well.
They also used to make me run up and down the hospital corridor and check my pulse before and after.

Sorry I don't know your DDs history so this may or may not be relevant. My DS was diagnosed with a murmur at his 3-year check, and when the paediatrician heard it he had us go to hospital for tests next day, as it was loud enough to cause concern. (But he was a healthy and lively child, growing fine and giving no reason for concern).

The took a chest xray to see if his heart was enlarged, and blood tests. That all came back negative, and we were then referred back again for an echocardiogram (ultrasound) on a separate appointment.

That was just like the ones they do on your bump, and also came back all clear, so he was then signed off as "innocent".

None of it was scary or unpleasant, apart from having cream on the back of his hand before the blood tests, which he hated!
