Itchy all over after antibiotics

My 11 year old started Cefalexin tonight for a urine infection. It's the first time he has had this antibiotic it's making him so itchy. One minute it is his legs then belly and the worst seems to be his groin which seems to move. Is this normal I have looking but cant see any rash on him. I have tried a wet flannel which made things better for all of 10 minutes. I have sent DH to get petition from the shops

I’d phone 111 sounds like he’s allergic to it. My daughter was like that with penicillin- she looked like she’d been in a fire

I’d seek medical advice. I wouldn’t give him any more antibiotic until you do.

Agree, don't give any more antibiotics. Ringing 111 is the only option for medical advice. Some Piriton might help and send him off to sleep but keep a close eye.
The flannels, used all the time, will probably be soothing.

thank you we have gone back to the GP he is now really struggling to wee too which is totally unlike him. So we are just packing a bag and going to accident and emergency

How did he get on op? Hoping he's ok

He’s just waiting on a bed in the ward. He has a sever infection in his urine tract. He still isn’t having a wee very much gone once since getting here he’s been asleep most of the time though. He’s on a drip while he sleeps
