Mmrv - Nurofen?

My 12m has had their round of vaccines so mmrv, men b and pneumococcal - it’s about 9 hours post vax and he’s woken up hot and grumpy (we are in Scotland so not got the awful heatwave!) it’s defo fever.

I know you can’t give Nurofen with chicken pox but what about the vax? I’ve given him paracetamol but Nurofen just works so much better whenever he gets a temp.

Found this

Ibuprofen
Whilst ibuprofen can be given to treat a high temperature following vaccination if required, it is recommended that if a child develops a varicella-like rash 3 to 4 weeks after vaccination, parents or carers should be advised to avoid using ibuprofen because of a theoretical potential risk that it may increase the risk of secondary skin infection when used in natural chickenpox infection. In the event of a post-vaccination rash developing, healthcare professionals can advise the use of paracetamol to reduce fever and topical medication to relieve itching.

Was 25/26 where I was and certainly not at midnight!

but thank you for that info, sounds like it’s ok to use unless the rash appears in a few weeks!
