My dd has had a fever since Thursday night. Today it's reached 39.5 at its highest. She's having calpol and nurofen which helps a bit but she has no other symptoms. She's off her food and doesn't want to drink.much. I've managed to get her to have a few milk bottles and strawberries. She's miserable.

Would you contact 111 or wait and see? She's 14 months

She is up to date. But has a couple of non blanching spots . She has a few pale brown bruises but not sure if she's just banged herself.

Waiting for a doctor to call.

OP I would take her back to A&E straight away with what you’ve described. Make sure you point out the non blanching spots and ask if it could be sepsis or meningitis (it’s not just meningitis that can cause non blanching spots but sepsis more broadly which can result from any untreated or insufficiently treated bacterial infection).

Thanks everyone. She's been seen in pediatrics and they said it looks like roseola. They mentioned glandular fever but he said it's not usually in someone so young and her glands seemed ok.

We've been given a number to call if anything changed in 24 hrs.

She seemed happier in the day yesterday. However still refusing food. She's trying bless her but it's literally a bite here and there of a crisp or biscuit. Not eaten in 7 days now

Fluids are an issue. I had to syringe apple juice as she wasn't drinking. She's been 8 hrs with a bone dry nappy but I know it's night time and she's just had a bottle of milk so going to monitor it.

Rash is fading. She's very sweaty poor girl. This heat is not helping!

If you still feel she needs to be seen take her back to A&E

She does not want to drink. She doesn't seem in pain though. She's totting about but in the last 11 hrs has only drank 395 mls of liquid. I'm syringing some of it. 2 wet nappies since 6pm last night. I don't want to bother the GP again as I m sure they think I'm neurotic lol

Her rash has gone though. No temp.

If it's roseola, you are through the worst. It's a leading cause of high temperatures in babies and leads to a lot of A&E visits. Fever that starts to go down as the rash appears is the major characteristic. Once she's had it, she might occasionally get breakthrough rashes when she is older (pityriasis rosea) but this should be it for the fever.

That's really good to know!. I've never experienced it with my other children.
