Should I ask the GP about my 14 year old's delayed puberty?

My oldest DS (14) recently said to me that he feels like his penis is abnormally small. Maybe a silly question but is it worth going tot he doctors over it? Even just to reassure him? He hasn’t hit puberty full on yet which at 14 does worry me a bit

Yes, see the gp. He’s raised it with you, show him you are listening to his concern

If he has had some puberty changes (increase in testicular size happens first, then other genital changes, hair, height growth etc.) it's unlikely to be delayed puberty in a medical sense. However if he's expressed concern then a doctor visit to check all that is sensible. Make sure he's aware that he will need to be fully examined including testicles/penis and that that's an appropriate thing for a doctor to do. You can be present, or if he prefers you're not there a GP staff member can be a chaperone.
