since my daughter started reception it’s been constant and I have two girls with long thick curly hair and we are literally delicing every week at this point. I use full marks and comb through each time which literally takes 2 hours a child and I spray vosene in their hair every day, wear it up, what else can I do?

My son has long, curly hair - TBH I found the insecticide treatments not as good as the mineral oil solution (I used nit-not - I got it on amazon). Combing the oil through was much more pleasant (as much as spending 2 hours combing nits out of a child can be anyway) than the smell and slight sting of the full marks/whatever.

I left it in overnight, and yes, it did take a few goes to wash out, but I sent him to school with it pulled back and still a bit oily and that seemed to keep them away much better than when we used the chemical one.

Our school at that age had a 'sunday nit check' whatsapp message that went around, reminding everyone just to have a look and check their child didn't have them, in an attempt to stamp it out - seemed to work pretty well.

Kids get nits but not usually at that frequency, my guess is you’ve never truly cleared the original infestation. Do you leave the product in overnight? And I would comb daily with cheap conditioner before repeating the nit treatment 7 days later.

Oh and sanitize hairbrushes, wash bedding and towels daily until you’re certain you’re on top of it.
