My toddler (she's almost 3) has wonky toes 😅 Has anyone experienced this before please and what was the outcome? I will make a doctor's appointment, but just curious

My daughter has this. She’s 6.5 now and we’ve recently been seen by the orthopaedic department at the hospital. She is now due to have surgery on both feet, but only 2 of the affected toes, as the surgery will result in her not being able to move the toes that were operated on. It’s worth a GP trip, definitely. Hers are far more severe then your daughters, though this has worsened over the last 12 months.

@mybathistoohot Thank you, I wasn't sure if it was one of those things that just sorts itself out as they grow or if it would need treating. Did they say what causes them to be like that or is it just one of those things?

@rach971for my DD, the ligaments are too tight which causes the toes to pull under/sideways. If left untreated, they can fully turn underneath themselves or the neighbouring toes, which will cause pain/balance/walking issues. This is all very new to me so I don’t know much, this is just what we’ve been told recently. Your GP should be able to advise ☺️

I have genetically wonky toes. Nothing's ever been done about them and it hasn't caused me any issues.

I have them and have gifted them to my DS(4). My son also has a neurological disorder that has led to gross motor delay which we are until physio for and they done an orthopaedic referral but we were basically told as long as it doesn’t cause pain/doesn’t get any worse then it’s fine, they don’t think it’s causing any extra hindrance to his delays

yes my son has them. we took him to a specialist and he said it should grow out by about 5 but if not then come back for surgery like PP its called "hammer toe" or "curly toe"
