Very clumsy 26mo-Hypermobility?

Hi all,
Was hoping for some advice. Ds2 (26m) walked at 12 months. However he’s always been unsteady on his feet.

He has been ill a lot this year (currently on waiting list for a tonsillectomy) so I had put the clumsiness down to that as it seems worse when he’s ill. He was admitted to hospital in October and the nurse on the ward watched him running and commented on it. The consultant observed him running around and said all seemed fine and was probably due to him being ill.

Thankfully I have carpets but have had to put foam lining on the door frames and other hard surfaces as he runs into them.

He runs very quickly in the house and I’ve noticed his feet seem to roll inwards before he falls. He’s also only ever sat in a ‘w’ position.

Outside he can only walk holding my hand or on reigns otherwise he trips over and seems to kick his legs outwards when walking. He can walk up stairs but only holding my hand, not unaided.

I plan on ringing the GP tomorrow (was going to wait until his 2 year but haven’t heard anything yet). Has anyone else experienced this with their dc? Ds1 was a later walker but could run unaided outside by 2.

Any advice appreciated!

Here is a pic of how he sits. He just seems to fall into the position from standing whenever he sits down (doesn’t use his hands to help him).

W sitting can be an indication that he lacks core strength. I think that chasing up his 2 year check is a good one.
