Has anyone used travel sickness medicine for a two-year-old on flights?

Hi everyone! 😊
I’m traveling with my son soon — this will be his 4th trip, but our longest flight so far. Usually our flights are around 3 hours and he always gets sick (vomits).

This time we’re flying to the United States, about 11 hours, and he’s 2 years old.

I was thinking about giving him Dramamine — what do you think? Has any mum used it before for a toddler and could share their experience? šŸ™

I would consult your GP.

I went to the doctor yesterday and he told me to go to the pharmacy, and the pharmacy said I had a prescription from the doctor.

I have given piriton for a long flight, it's not for travel sickness but can help (mainly by sending children to sleep).

The BNF for children has a section on motion sickness drugs. Under 4s can have cyclizine, and promethazine hydrochloride (might be the active ingredient in Phenergan but you would want to carefully check). You then have to dose per kg of child and also by age. That's probably why the pharmacist isn't keen.
