Hi, quite concerned about teenage daughter. She just started periods, on about 4th cycle now.
She had a very small amount of crusting on nipples ? a year ago, we did see the GP, but it was thought to be within normal experience.
About 3 weeks ago, she had a lot of redness on 1 breast, looked infected, we went to the Urgent Treatment Centre out of hours, she got a course of flucloxacillin, it cleared up a bit.
We went to the GP 1 week later as advised and then got topical fucidin cream, advised to use for 1 week.
We saw a GP for review this week, recommended prolactin tests, but we can only get this in 1 place apparently, and have to wait until the end of May for a slot.
Meanwhile, I had a look this morning and the skin is looking redder and infected, and there has been a brown discharge.
I guess we need to rule out a prolactinoma and the very small risk of cancer and treat the infection, but I am trying to work out the best way how. I could call III and see if I can get a GP appointment this weekend, maybe?
Apart from the potential of concerning conditions, it isn't very nice for her.
Does anyone have any similar experience at all?
