Mild cerebral palsy child disability payment

DD age 5
has been diagnosed with mild cerebral palsy. Our physio and consultant gave us leaflets to help us claim for child disability allowance. From experience what level does mild CP cover?
many thanks

It depends how much care your child needs over and above the care a 5 year old would ordinarily need. I don’t think anyone can answer your question with no detail. Even with information it’s hard to guess where the DWP will go.

As pp said, how much is this disability impacting your daily life? Cerebral palsey is a very broad diagnosis and can vary from a slight limp or squint in the eye to a total inability to feed and toilet independently or lack of speech, ability to swallow etc. Does the disability mean your child needs overnight care? Heavy lifting e.g transferring from wheelchair to bed, regular physio appointment during working hours etc.

It depends on your child’s needs, rather than the diagnosis.

DS has mild CP and he gets lower rate mobility. He's an occasional wheelchair user. He also gets middle rate care but he has Autism too which is probably a bigger factor with those needs. But if you feel your child needs more care than other children her age then it's worth applying.
