What could it possibly be?!

My DD is 4 and for three past 2 months she has been complaining of tummy ache every day, multiple times a day. Often it lasts a few minutes and she feels ok again. Sometimes she does a big trump and it goes or has a poo and it goes. Ona. Few occasions she’s been doubled over saying she can’t walk because it hurts. Sometimes her legs hurt too. I’ve been back and forth to the doctors many times and we’re still no closer to what it could be. There’s no pattern to when it happens and I don’t think she’s putting it on as well be mid conversation or activity and she’ll say ouch and grip her stomach. She opens her bowels 2-3 times a day everyday and then pops vary drastically. Sometimes they’re a few small bits sometimes it’s lot and lots of mush, sometimes it’s a formed poo, there have been 3 occasions the poo has been pale almost grey in colour but then the following ones will be brown.

They’ve done a blood test but said they came back normal. I’m not exactly sure what they tested for though. The last time I went they said what do you think it is? I said I’m not sure but I’ve read online sometimes they can be impacted in their intestines so I would like an xray to have a look and she said X-rays are useless for bellyache and won’t tell us anything but she’ll prescribe a months worth of movicol to try. I am worried about giving her movicol incase it has any side effects. Has anyone tried this with their little one? I’m tempted to ring back up and ask for an xray for the third time.

Has anyone been through this before or have any ideas of what it could be? Other than the spontaneous bellyache she has absolutely no other symptoms she eats a balanced diet drinks plenty of water and is an active happy child.

Your daughter’s language and understanding will be way ahead of mine, and mines just about to turn 3. But mine says her tummy is sore when she needs a wee? Could it be something like that. And she’s just not describing the feeling properly rather than it actually being sore

My daughter kept asking doctors to X-ray my grand child, who had been unwell with abdominal pain for some time, and they refused. When they eventually did, she was impacted, and ended up having some bowel removed. It was similar to Hirshsprung’s disease My daughter was so frustrated that they didn’t take her seriously, until it was nearly too late.

Many parents use Movicol for kids and it’s usually safe when given as the doctor advises.
If the pain keeps happening or you notice very pale stools again, it’s worth going back to the doctor for another check.
