Toddler limping - no injury

Morning all, I'm just wondering if anyone can advise or has had similar with their child. My 2.5yo DS has suddenly developed a limp on his left leg for the last 7 days. I'm 99% sure he's not hurt it - no bangs and no falls. I've touched it and manoeuvred it and it doesn't seem to bother him. The only other thing that's changed in the same time period is he's been very irritable on and off, including through the night which is quite unlike him as he's generally happy and calm. He's also had a temperature on and off - ranging from 37.8c - 38.3c, but tends to be more in the evening rather than morning or earlier day. He had a cough / cold around 2/3 weeks ago and when Googling irritable hip seemed to pop up. I've got a doctors appointment booked for the morning for him, but just seeing if anyone has had similar and what the outcome was. Tia.

I would assume he has a greenstick fracture and go to wherever local to you will be able to x-ray him.
Toddlers can cope astoundingly well with this sort of injury, hobbling around and being grumpy but not actually stopping.

I know children can get something that affects legs/limping following a viral infection like the flu. Definitely go to the doctor tomorrow and mention temp

Definitely needs to see the GP. Sounds like irritable hip. But with the temperature septic arthritis needs to be ruled out.

Could be synovitis related to a virus, my daughter had it when she was 3, checked out at hospital and was fine after a week or two. Might be worth a visit to the gp
