Scarlet fever - when did your little one go back to nursery?

I’ve seen a lot of posts on here recently about scarlet fever.

My toddler has been diagnosed with scarlet fever and is on antibiotics, so is no longer infectious. I wondered when would be appropriate to send them back to childcare? Very low appetite because of the painful sore throat. But well enough to play with toys or sit and read a book.

If they’re in pain with their throat and not eating then they’re not well enough for nursery. Playing/reading at home is different to doing the same in busy nursery. He needs to be given the chance to rest and recover.

When he's eating and drinking (and no longer needing painkillers if appropriate)

Mine were school age and back at school within a couple of days, but didn't actually have a lot of symptoms beyond the rash.
