Sending 15mo back to childcare with no appetite?

DD is 15.5 months and has had a terrible week with fever, sore throat, cough, blocked nose etc.

Today she does seem a bit happier in herself, but the problem is that she is completely off her food. She’s had one mouthful of toast and two teaspoons of yoghurt since Friday. And very little interest in her water bottle. It’s only thanks to BFing that I’m getting anything inside her.

Would you send her back to nursery, if she seemed better in herself, but not feeding?

I would send in some expressed milk but she started refusing the bottle a month or so ago so won’t drink it.

I probably would if I had to work, just because it's a long year of bugs ahead. Could you and her other parent make it a shorter day by one dropping late, and the other picking up early?

Is her fever gone? If so then I’d send her for a short day, she may be more up to eating something when she sees all the other children eating.

Yes, fever is gone thankfully. We’ll give it a go tomorrow!

Agreed, we usually do on the basis that they can fall into habits/be wary of food after illness and being around other kids eating and back into normal routines etc is usually the best medicine.
