Are protein powders suitable for children?

Hey! My daughter is 15 and currently going through some health issues and she’s a poor eater due to this and I’m concerned she’s not receiving the daily nutrients that she needs.
My son is 10 and has ASD so he is also a very picky eater and also concerned he isn’t receiving the nutrients he needs on a daily basis.
Someone recently mentioned to me that they give their children chocolate protein powder with the added vitamins, etc.
Ive had a look online and feel that it might be something I might be able to get my children to consume but, is it safe, is it ok to use on a child/teenager?
Does anyone else recommend this and if so, can anyone recommend a brand to use? I’m UK based.
I only want advice regarding the above… I have tried every other way to get my children to eat what they need, and it simply does not work unfortunately.
Thankyou in advance.

Have you tried Ensure (for older teenagers) or Pediasure (for the 10yo) drinks? They’re often used when children’s dietary intake is insufficient and have protein, carbs, essential fatty acids and vitamins too. So they’re more complete than protein powder for kids but are still essentially flavoured powders and they do a chocolate one. Pediasure is specifically formulated for children.

No I’ve not heard of it, I will look into it. Thankyou.
