Frequent waking at night but resettling quickly

We've had a few bad nights for the last week with our 1.5 year old - she's definitely teething, lots of dribbling, runny nose, a bit of a cough but has generally been ok in herself during the day. Only yesterday evening before bed she seemed to be really struggling but she'd only had a 20min restless nap too. At night she is waking often after going to bed, well I say waking, she is losing her dummy every time and sort of grizzling/ crying in her sleep til we go in and put the dummy back in, sometimes she takes a couple of mins but does settle quite quickly, until the next 30mins/hour when the same happens again. This happened from 7 til about midnight last night, then she was ok until 3 for the dummy, and then up at 5.30 (she did crash at 6:20pm for bed last night as she was so knackered so I expected an early rise regardless) . I took her to the pharmacy today as this pattern is what I've experienced before when she's had ear infections. Very unsettled nights and tossing turning when trying to get back to sleep. Her nap yesterday was literally just 20mins of her turning her head left to right and losing her dummy every minute. We have also had nights recently where She's been in unsettled for up to 3 hours but these are just short and frequent instead of one long stint.
She's been given antibiotics just in case as the pharmacist didn't seem completely sure but now I'm hesitant to give it to her as she hasn't really been pulling at her ears, and not much of a temperature if any, and apart from yesterday evening she's pretty much her normal self during the day. It's just these nights! Im doing anebsol liquid on her gums every night before bed and Calpol but it doesn't seem to help her considering that the frequent waking is happening in the first few hours after going to bed. Has anyone experienced similar with teething or am I missing another possible issue? I know it's most likely, I just don't know now wether to give her the antibiotics anyway. She only had them in October for an ear infection and has had 4 in her two short years, it just seems very soon to be another, but she's been so stuffy and congested which can cause them.
