Eczema treatment/moisturiser recommendations

My DS9 has always had eczema but as he has become older it is only a problem in the winter months. Since we stopped putting the cream on regularly and only when needed in Winter he has started to hate the feeling of it to the point of crying. We have tried Aveeno, Epaderm and Epimax but he says they’re all too sticky. Anyone have any suggestions for something to try please?

Was just about to say Aveeno but saw you’ve tried that, what about sudocrem?

Maybe try a cream instead of an ointment. We find our dd hates the feel of an ointment (epaderm ointment) so we switched to the epaderm cream. We do find it needs applying more though

Eucerin is good. Salcura worked for us too. Sudocrem was very drying in our house

Thanks so much everyone! I’ve ordered some epaderm cream instead of ointment to see if that helps. If not I’ll work my way through the suggestions

I’ve used a balm called delhicious for a few years now and found it really effective. Not sure on use on children so I’d check the ingredients but they do a fragrance free one! Tried many creams before I came across this on TikTok and it’s very effective!

Sorry to jump on your thread Rachierach! But when did any of you/your little ones get a confirmed diagnosis of eczema? Neither my husband nor I had/have it, but I think my husband’s older brother might have? My 6month old has a few smallish dry, red patches appearing on his arms and legs (and I think one on his back?) at the moment. Mentioned it and tried to show health visitor yesterday but she sort of shrugged it off, advised using an emollient which I’d already read up about, but she didn’t really look at it. It’s more obvious when he’s in/had a bath. Isn’t overly scaly, just a bit drier. He doesn’t seem to notice it himself at all so guessing it’s not itchy? Not having had any experience with it personally, I’m not sure whether I should be showing a gp or if I’m overreacting? Wanted to start taking him swimming soon but don’t want to aggravate it if I should be treating it carefully? Any advice welcomed. Thank you!
